During a visit to Zanjan province, Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Mehrdad Bazarpaash, accompanied by the President and the government delegation, observed the 86% progress of the second track of the Qazvin-Zanjan railroad. This 181-kilometer line, featuring 11 stations, reduces the travel time from Tehran to Zanjan by one hour. The project’s estimated value is 12.7 trillion tomans, requiring an additional 1.35 trillion tomans to complete. The initiative aims to enhance the safety and speed of passenger trains up to 200 kilometers per hour, along with a 50% increase in the number of passenger trains. Moreover, the railroad provides the capability to transport up to 10 million tons of cargo.
