Departure of the first cargo train from China to Iran

Tehran- IRNA- The first international cargo train “Crossing the Caspian Sea” left on Monday 30 of Khordad (20 June) from Yinchuan in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region located in northwest China to Iran’s Bandare Anzali to become the first freight route of the Caspian Sea from Ningxia to West Asian countries.
According to IRNA’s Tuesday night report from “ECNS China” agency, this cargo train left on Monday from YinChuan’s Southern station of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region of China, passing through Horgos passage in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Kazakhstan, and the Caspian Sea, will reach Bandare Anzali in the north of Iran in about 20 days.
This train has 51 standard containers with a cargo weight of about 1400 tons and a cargo value of more than 3 million and 60 thousand dollars.
Compared to the previous international train route between Yinchuan and Iran, this new route reduces the time needed to transfer the goods by 20 days and saves 897$ or 6,000 Chinese Yuan per container.
According to experts, the launch of the international cargo train crossing the Caspian Sea from Ningxia to Iran has created a low-cost international rail and sea transportation channel for Ningxia and its surrounding provinces to Iran and the Middle East, which will help the export of Ningxia’s domestic products. It also helps and can lead to the promotion of the export and import of products.
