Securing line one of the Tehran subway

The CEO of Tehran Urban & Suburban Railway Operation Co. stated that line 1 of the metro will not be able to provide services from Shahre Rey station to Palayeshgah station for 48 hours on 10 and 11 of Shahrivar (September 1 and 2) due to improvement and safety enhancement of southern switches of line 1 of the Tehran metro.

According to Borna news agency, Hamed Abbasi Nami, the CEO of Tehran Urban & Suburban Railway Operation Co, stated that after 20 years of operating the line 1 of metro improvement is necessary, added: “By Mehr (October) the educational centers will be opened and we will have an increase in the number of passengers, therefore performing the necessary repairs is a working priority and by the end of the week the first phase of safety enhancement and improvement of southern switches of line 1 from Shahre Rey station to Palayeshgah station will start in the shortest time possible”.

By emphasizing that according to the planning, they are trying to do it in 48 hours, he added: “In these two days, departure of trains in line 1 of Tehran metro will be divided into two parts and transportation services will be available from Tajrish station to Shahre Rey station and vice versa, and also from Palayeshgah station to Kahrizak and Foroodgahe Imam Khomeini stations without any restrictions”.
